Akanksha Sharma, M.D.

Akanksha earned a bachelor?s in Biology and Biotechnology from the Worcester Polytechnical Institute in Massachusetts. She earned her Medical Degree from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and also spent a year at Hong Kong University studying marriage and family therapy through a Rotary scholarship to promote intercultural understanding prior to starting medical school. She is interested in global health and has volunteered abroad with various types of projects in Haiti, India, Hong Kong, and the Philippines. She is also interested in the provision of healthcare and education to the underserved and has worked with several organizations to achieve this end. In her free time, she enjoys Kathak and Indian folk dance, reading, cooking and crotcheting, as well as adoring her godson and her pet Shih Tzu.
