Gwenn Garden, MD
Dr. Garden is a UW associate professor of neurology and a neurohospitalist at UW Medical Center. In that capacity, she solely treats patients who have been admitted for overnight stays or longer. These patients have experienced events and conditions such as stroke, transient ischemic attack, seizure, encephalopathy (brain dysfunction), syncope (loss of consciousness), dementia and migraine.
Dr. Garden also is also a research associate at UW's Center on Human Development and Disability. Her studies involve the molecular pathogenesis of HIV dementia and examining the basic cellular biology of cell death in the central nervous system. She hopes to shed light on important cellular interactions that occur with injury, trauma, seizures and disease.
