Mary Lou Kopas, MN, CNM

Mary Lou Kopas, M.N., C.N.M. is a midwife specializing in healthy pregnancy and birth, as well as well-woman care, and also serves as chief of the UW midwifery practice group. 

Kopas received her bachelor's and master's of nursing degrees from the University of Washington in Seattle. She has served as president of the Washington State Affiliate of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and serves on the statewide Perinatal Advisory Committee.

Kopas' clinical interests include second stage (the pushing phase) of labor, breastfeeding support, healthy newborn care, midwifery education, and psycho-social challenges during the transition to motherhood.

Kopas focuses on educating her clients to optimize their health and make informed choices about their care. She really enjoys getting to know the women and families in her care.
