Mukta Krane, FACS, MD
Associate Professor of Surgery and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance
Dr. Krane is an associate professor of surgery at the University of Washington and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. She is an expert in minimally invasive colon and rectal surgery, treatment of colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease, and a member of the Pelvic Health Center.
Dr. Krane earned her medical degree at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. She went on to residency in general surgery at the University of Chicago during which she completed a research fellowship in the Departments of Radiation Oncology and Surgery. She completed a Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts.
After 4 years of practice as a colorectal surgeon and associate director of the Pelvic Floor Center at the University of Chicago, she moved to UW in 2014.
She is board certified in general surgery and colon and rectal surgery. She is a member of a number of regional and national surgical associations and is on the Program Committee, the Video Based Education Committee, the Young Surgeon's, and the Young Researcher’s Committee of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
