Biography
Randall Chesnut, M.D., F.C.C.M., F.A.C.S., is a board certified neurosurgeon at the Neurological Surgery Clinic and Spine Center at Harborview Medical Center, the Integra Foundation Endowed Professor of Neurotrauma and a UW professor of Neurological Surgery and Orthopedics and Sports Medicine and an adjunct professor of Global Health.
Dr. Chesnut strives to create active partnerships with his patients to achieve the best possible outcomes. He has expertise in surgery and critical care for traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injuries, failed back surgery, adult spondylolisthesis and sports-related spine and brain injuries.
Dr. Chesnut earned his M.D. at the UW. His clinical interests include brain and spinal injuries including sports-related injuries. His research interests include improvement of care for traumatic brain and spine injuries, investigation of outcomes in trauma care systems in developing countries in Latin America and targeted therapy in the management of traumatic brain injury.
Personal Interests
In addition to caring for his patients, Dr. Chesnut enjoys spending time with family, skiing, hiking, mountain biking and rugby.
