Renuka Bhattacharya, MD

Renuka Bhattacharya, M.D., is medical director of UW’s liver transplant program and a UW associate professor of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Bhattacharya is involved in liver transplant policy on a local, regional and national level and has a passion for the care of patients with liver disease.

Dr. Bhattacharya earned her M.D. at the University of Virginia. She enjoys her role as an educator and serves as the program director for the UW’s Transplant Hepatology fellowship program.

Her interests include the treatment of liver cancer, liver transplant, hepatitis B and C, autoimmune hepatitis and other acute and chronic liver diseases. She is involved in multiple areas of liver related research, including transplant and liver cancer projects.
