Kristina Adams Waldorf, MD
Dr. Adams Waldorf is a UW professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as an expert in pregnancy infections, low to moderate risk obstetrics, and gynecologic surgery.
Dr. Adams Waldorf's clinical interests include low to moderate risk obstetrics, pregnancy infections (Zika virus and Group B Streptococcus), laparoscopic and hysteroscopic gynecologic surgery, abnormal uterine bleeding and fibroids, menopausal disorders, and premalignant disorders of the endometrium and cervix (abnormal Pap smears/cervical dysplasia).
She earned her bachelor’s degree in science with honors (magna cum laude) from the University of Washington and her M.D. from Mayo Medical School (Rochester, Minnesota). Dr. Adams Waldorf returned to Seattle to complete her obstetrics and gynecology residency and continues to practice at the University of Washington as a faculty member.
Dr. Adams Waldorf is an internationally recognized expert in pregnancy infections and a standing member of the National Institutes of Child Health and Human Development Obstetrics & Maternal-Fetal Biology Study Section. She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG) Zika Expert Working Group (ZEWG), an advisory group to ACOG on its Zika Virus response efforts through collaborations with organizations including the CDC, AAP, and health departments. In partnership with radiology colleagues, she has also developed a video curriculum to teach pregnancy ultrasound for obstetrics providers in low- and middle-income countries that can be accessed online (https://depts.washington.edu/obgyn/education/ultrasound-course.html).
